Google’s Pause Point Digital Wellbeing tool, which interrupts autopilot use of apps a user marks as distracting, is spreading beyond the Pixel 11. Android Authority reported Friday, Oct. 16, that the feature—announced in May 2026 ahead of I/O and long treated as a Pixel 11 exclusive—reached additional Pixel phones with Android 17 QPR1 and has now shown up on a OnePlus 13R running a Color OS 17 beta.

Pause Point gives users a short breather when they open a labeled app. During the pause they can do a breathing exercise, view favorite photos, set a timer or switch to an alternative such as an audiobook. Google’s May blog framed it as a middle path between strict app timers and total lockouts.

Google’s support page still says Pause Point “is available on Pixel 11 series running Android 17 and later,” Android Authority noted, even as QPR1 and OEM skins widen access. Exact timing for every Android 17 device remains unclear.

Unlike older Digital Wellbeing timers that kick in after time is spent, Pause Point intervenes when an app launches. Android Authority said seeing it on a non-Pixel skin is a sign the restriction is truly lifting, though rollouts may still be slow.

Users on compatible devices should look for the option under Digital Wellbeing settings as updates land. Third-party apps already offer similar prompts for people who do not want to wait.
