What happens to the iPhone now? It’s still in lunar orbit aboard the lander, and Apple has indicated that additional images may be released in the coming weeks. Whether the device will continue to function as the mission progresses — and as radiation exposure accumulates — remains to be seen. Consumer-grade silicon wasn’t designed for prolonged operation in space.
