Rakuten Advertising Partners with Marcode to Protect Against Affiliate Fraudsters

Marcode bolsters Rakuten Advertising’s affiliate link protection by combatting keyword bidding and cookie insertion

Rakuten Advertising, the leading affiliate marketing network, announced a partnership with Marcode to safeguard its network against link hijackers. With the help of Marcode’s Brand Protection module, Rakuten Advertising will better protect brand keywords in Rakuten Advertising’s publisher network from link hijackers, fraudsters, and trademark infringers.

Marcode’s analysis engine can reveal affiliate details hidden within fraudulent websites, detect and bypass link cloaking platforms, and accelerate the takedown of fraudulent affiliates. With Marcode’s comprehensive search intelligence data, Rakuten Advertising can better protect its clients with improved detection of anomalies in difficult-to-monitor, niche subnetworks.

This partnership is a part of Rakuten Advertising’s ongoing efforts to provide a more flexible and varied selection of affiliate protection services to align with its advertisers’ individual needs and preferences. Rakuten Advertising’s partnerships with Marcode, AdPolice and The Search Monitor are all underpinned by proprietary AI anomaly detection tools that continuously monitor its world-leading publisher network.

“Advertisers have a wide range of audiences, platforms and priorities, so offering just one option for protection isn’t enough,” says Nick Stamos, CEO of Rakuten Advertising. “Brand and keyword protection are crucial to the integrity of a successful affiliate program, and Marcode’s technology is an incredible asset. We’re thrilled to add them to our list of partners available to our advertisers.”

“Rakuten Advertising demonstrated a bigger commitment to protecting its network from fraud in search than any other network we’ve encountered by running a head-to-head test, in which we were proven to detect the most fraud due to our increased search frequency, advanced anti-cloaking technology, and AI-driven analysis,” says Andy Cooney, Co-Founder of Marcode. “This dedication to stamping out unscrupulous practices makes them an ideal partner for Marcode, and we look forward to helping deliver value for their clients.”
