Living with a Rare Brain Condition: The Untold Story of a 19-Year-Olds Pursuit Of Her Dreams

In 2019, Lace’s life took a drastic turn when she began experiencing debilitating migraines and uncontrollable movements in her face and neck. After undergoing numerous tests, she was diagnosed with a brain condition known as idiopathic intracranial hypertension. This condition mimics the symptoms of a brain tumor, even though there is no physical tumor present.

In May of 2022, Lace’s condition took a turn for the worse, and she was hospitalized due to extremely low blood pressure and a high heart rate. She was unable to keep food down and went six days without eating. It was a harrowing experience, and they almost lost her. Since then, Lace has become permanently disabled.

In September, Her fiancee created a secret tik tok with the intent to blow up so she could have a platform to show her makeup. It ended up getting over 80,000 followers and 3,000,000+ views. Lace’s talent and passion for makeup has caught the attention of many people, and her artistry has began to gain popularity among her community. She was soon approached by local media, and her work was featured on television, newspapers, magazines and a podcast! 

“And It’s JUST the beginning.” Lace says. “This has inspired support from my entire small town and so many others. I’m amazed at where this journey has taken me so far. I can’t wait to see what the future brings.“

And it has only fueled her drive to create unique, high-quality makeup looks.
