mender’s Commitment to Land and Wildlife Conservation Drives Donation to Trash Free Gulf, other Non-Profit Causes Across Texas and Region

mender, an IT asset disposition (ITAD) company that extends the life of IT assets through recycling and resale, has announced a donation to the Gulf Trust’s Trash Free Gulf campaign.” As a leading supporter of regional wildlife and conservation efforts, the donations honor mender’s pledge to commit five percent of its profits to land and wildlife conservation efforts in Texas and across the region.

The project, which is an initiative from the Texas Parks and Wildlife Foundation, is devoted to cleaning up waterways feeding the gulf and reducing single-use containers that ultimately pollute these waterways. Mender is among several high-profile primary contributors to this program, including H-E-B’s Our Texas, Our Future, Texas Parks and Wildlife Foundation, Keep Texas Beautiful, and YETI. In addition to a monetary donation, mender employees will participate in a cleanup event at White Rock Lake on May 17. The company will also attend future Trash Free Gulf cleanup events, which Kent Taggart, mender’s co-founder and CEO, says will help to solidly connect team members to the company’s environmental mission.

“mender is dedicated to giving back in ways that help to heal the environment, and that doesn’t only mean writing a check,” said Taggart. “Community engagement is also important to us, so we want to get as many staff members—and even customers and vendors—as possible activated in our mission.”

Trash Free Gulf unites cleanup partners across Texas this April and May to clean watersheds and raise awareness for healthy streams, rivers, lakes, bays and oceans. More than 2,000 volunteers are needed across 40 projects throughout the state.

“We are so grateful for mender’s partnership and support,” said Jay Kleberg, executive director of the Gulf Trust. “Our mission with this campaign is to create a shift in the way Texans think about their connection to the Gulf. By getting out there and helping clean up with our neighbors, we can work toward a trash-free Gulf.”
