South Africa – Mar 25, 2025 – “A woman’s bleeding in my arms. With no health insurance or Medicaid, her first resort isn’t the hospital—it’s here. The Healing Centre for the Abused.” This is the heartbreaking reality for countless women in South Africa facing gender-based violence (GBV).

In South Africa, one woman is killed by her intimate partner every six hours. An alarming 1 in 3 women report experiencing GBV, and 87% of cases occur among women living below the poverty line. Without access to proper support, financial independence, or legal protection, these survivors remain trapped in cycles of abuse.

Healing Through Art & Financial Empowerment

The Wholeful Healing Journey is not just about survival—it’s about healing and rebuilding. Our program provides a holistic approach to recovery, combining:

Art Therapy – Survivors use music, dance, and sculpting as therapeutic outlets, helping them process trauma and regain confidence.

Financial Empowerment – Skills training, financial literacy, and small business management provide survivors with the tools they need to break free from economic dependency.

Through these interventions, we help women rediscover their strength, creativity, and independence, ensuring they never have to return to abusive situations.
