Black Faith Network: One Man’s Mission to Combat Negative Media Content in Black Enterainment

Owner Maurice Gunn Fights to Reclaim Positive Representation for African American Youth Through His New Streaming Platform.

Chicago, IL – September 30, 2024 – Maurice Gunn, founder of the Black Faith Network (BFN), is on a mission to challenge the negative content saturating mainstream media by creating an uplifting platform for the African American community. While networks like Zeus, BET, YouTube, Netflix, and Tubi often showcase content glorifying violence, drug use, and promiscuity, Gunn’s vision is to offer a faith-based alternative that inspires and empowers.

The Black Faith Network is designed as a safe space for positive, faith-driven content that redefines how Black stories are told in movies, music, and media. Gunn’s goal is to move away from harmful stereotypes, replacing them with stories of hope, resilience, and love that reflect the true potential of African American families.

A Personal Mission to Save Lives

Gunn’s passion for this project stems from his experiences growing up in Chicago, where he witnessed firsthand the influence of negative media on his peers. This inspired him to launch the Black Faith Network to reshape young African Americans’ mindset, offering content that speaks to their faith, values, and aspirations.

BFN will feature a wide range of content, including faith-based films, podcasts, live broadcasts, and uplifting music, all aimed at delivering messages of inspiration and positivity for audiences of all ages.

Call to Action: Support BFN’s Vision

To meet its 2025 launch date, BFN is seeking community support through a crowdfunding campaign. Every contribution will help build the platform, produce original content, and bring this transformative service to more households.

“We need the community’s help to create this much-needed alternative to toxic media,” Gunn urges. “Your support will help us change the future of Black entertainment and save lives.”
