Albert Couture Is Making History In The State Of Kentucky

As the first ever fashion house to open in the state, Albert Couture is breaking barriers and altering how Kentucky – previously known for its bourbon and horses – is perceived on a global scale.

Founded by thirty-year-old African designer Albert Lukonga, the company’s mission is “Re-Defining Luxury Clothing Through Experience” which offers customers not only high quality clothing items but also a unique, personalized shopping experience.

The House of Albert Couture recently hosted their second Annual Show “When In Monaco” Collection presented by James Motor Company Mercedes Benz and Jeff Ruby’s Steakhouse. This collection was inspired by Monaco’s natural beauty and man-made splendor and featured 25 outfits modeled by locals ranging in age from 18 to 65 years old.

According to Lukonga, his design was created out of admiration for the opulence he witnessed while growing up in Africa: “I know that I would be unable to join that world. The only option I had was to create my version of that world around me. You are now witnessing the first piece of that creation with this collection.”

In addition to hosting their Annual Show, The House of Albert Couture has also acquired Kentucky Fashion Week in an effort to restructure how business is done within the fashion industry in Kentucky.
